It has been a long time since the last post but we have been busy. The first update after a very busy summer is the new camera support that has been built for the Ultra Large Format Camera. The new camera support now allows free movement of the the camera to our different studios and the option to take it outside.
The camera support can be moved vertically and held in place by a 6mm stainless steel pin at 5cm intervals. The camera base was made from cherry wood the same timber used to construct the camera. Four heavy duty lockable wheels allow free movement of the camera which is critical for focusing close up portrait work.
Whilst sorting out the camera support we have looked at supporting a focussing cloth to the rear of the camera as the ground glass is not very bright. A removable pivoting frame has been installed to support the focusing cloth that can be moved forward after focusing to allow loading of the film holder.
